NORTH AFRICAN SYNAGOGUE OIL LAMP MEMORIAL HOLDER.
Wooden base with inscribed metal appliques. Memorial dedication in Hebrew and in French: “Joseph Jacqueline Emile William Tubiana Décédés les 29 Nov 1949 l’age de 19 Ans.” 12 x 18 inches (30.5 x 45.7 cm).

Etched into the wooden frame is an image of a monoplane bearing the letter “P” on the body and a Star-of-David on the tail. It is possible the young man died as a result of a plane crash.
