Handwritten and autographed responsum regarding the topic of family purity by Harav Azriel Hildesheimer. In this letter, he inscribes that “Our masters, the Nodah B’Yehudah and the Chasam Sofer, who are the final halachic authorities, already published their rulings on it.
Harav Azriel Hildesheimer (1820-1899) was one of the premier 19th century Torah figures in Germany who preserved authentic Torah Judaism and battled against the Reform. In 1851, he was appointed Av Beis Din of Eisenstadt, and in 1869 he accepted the position of Rav of Adath Bnei Yisrael in Berlin. His letters were compiled into Chiddushim U’Teshuvos Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer.
Eisenstadt, prior to 1869. The letter is undated, yet stamped with his name and his rabbinical position in Eisenstadt. Light blue paper. Good condition. Page size: 23x14cm. Stained on bottom margin.
