Dr. Sigmund Rascher Signed Letter to Dr. Gebhardt
Letter from Dr. Sigmund Rascher ( SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer ) toProfessor Dr. Karl Gebhardt ( SS-Gruppenfuhrer and Chief Physician of the SShospital Hohenlychen. The letter states that Dr. Rascher announces that hewill go back to Dachau concentration camp after completing a series of testsagain. He says that Reichsarzt SS Gruppenfuhrer Dr. Grawitz has stronglychallenged the attempts. The letter is signed by Dr. Sigmund Rascher.Sigmund Rascher (12 February 1909 – 26 April 1945) was a German SS doctor.He conducted deadly experiments on humans pertaining to high altitude, freezing and blood coagulation under the patronage of SS leader HeinrichHimmler, to whom his wife Karoline "Nini" Diehl had direct connections. Whenpolice investigations uncovered that the couple had defrauded the publicwith their supernatural fertility by 'hiring' and kidnapping babies, she andRascher were arrested in April 1944. He was accused of financialirregularities, murder of his former lab assistant, and scientific fraud, and brought to Buchenwald and Dachau before being executed on the orders ofHeinrich Himmler.After his death, the Nuremberg Trials judged his experiments as inhumane andcriminal.This Typed letter measures 210mm x 140mm
