At the end of the preface the author’s son writes that this book is a segula and a safeguard against fires, and even cites that this book has saved its owners from a fire. Rabbi Mordechai served as an Admor in Drohovich and was known for his great piety. An account of his death relate that he died after coming out of the mikvah on a Friday afternoon, and that the mother of the Yitav Lev saw a pillar of fire ascending from the mikvah building.
