A GERMAN WWI ETCHED LION HEAD CALVARY OFFICER SWORD
A lion head with ruby set eyes, D-shaped guard and back-rib decorated with floral motifs reverse langet has a shield for engraving initials, crossguard is marked by the maker and "GESCHUTZT MUSTER", the langet features crossed swords over floral leaves indicative of the cavalry branch, ribbed handle covered with sharkskin and wound with triple twisted wire, the blade is finely etched with floral designs on both sides and rib, metal black painted scabbard with one suspension ring.
