Or HaGanuz LaTzaddikim, selections on the Torah from teachings of Chassidic leaders, mostly from teachings of the Baal HaTanya, by R. Aharon HaKohen of Apta. Zhovkva, 1800. First edition, with the approbation of the Maggid of Kozhnitz.
The book was published about four years after the printing of the Tanya by Rebbe Shneur Zalman of Liadi. The author, a prominent Chassidic Tzaddik, bases many of the thoughts in his book on the teachings of the Tanya, which he quotes and elaborates upon in almost every Torah portion.
Ownership inscription of R. Yisrael Ze'ev of Zaloshin (disciple of R. Mordechai Banet, author of Shoshanei Leket on Tehillim) on the final page, dated 1832. Stamps.
[64] leaves. Approx. 18 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Large open tears to title page and final leaf, affecting text, repaired with paper (entire border replaced in photocopy). Minor tears to many other leaves, affecting text in several places, repaired with paper. Worming, affecting text, repaired in part with paper. Handwritten markings and inscriptions in body of text. New leather binding.
