A collection of documents written and/or signed by Sir William Savage (bap. 1633 - 1681)(London, of noble birth) | The Documents are dated in 1675 and are written in Latin and English on early watermarked laid paper - They consist of 1) Deed Poll Bond for Debt; 2) The bonds are excellent examples of 17th Century Deed Poll Bonds for Debt | David Lumsdon of London to Marie BrowneNotesWilliam Savage (bap. 1633 - 1681)(London), listed as a descendant of Lord Savage of the Little Ards, who descended from Sir Robert Savage, first appointed by Henry IV as Sheriff of the region in Ireland that later became known as the Ards (see The Ancient & Noble Family of the Savages of the Ards, by George Francis Armstrong, Published in London by Marcus Ward & Co. 1888; also see Historia Et Cartularium Monasterii Sancti Petri Gloucestriae (where William Savage is listed as a significant land owner).
