Letter of Blessing and Assistance from Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch – 1940 – "May G-d Help Him… and Have Pity and Mercy on Our Dear Friends… Since the Extreme Conditions and Starvation Are Indescribable – ""May G-d Grant Us the Merit of Informing and Receiving Only Good Tidings, Both in Material and Spiritual Matters"

Letter from Rebbe Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn – the Rayatz of Lubavitch, with his hand signature. Brooklyn NY, 23rd MarCheshvan 1940.
Typewritten on the official stationery of Rebbe Rayatz, with his signature "Yosef Yitzchak".

The letter was addressed to R. Avraham Yitzchak Bromberg, a few months after he escaped the Nazis in Europe: "May G-d help him settle down with his family members to a happy life, and have pity and mercy on our dear friends and their families, since the extreme conditions and starvation there are indescribable, and there is little support for them from this country, for various reasons, and I am terribly pained by their situation". The rebbe continues and blesses: "May G-d grant us the merit of informing and receiving only good tidings, both in material and spiritual matters".
Ink stamp at the top of the letter (on the left) – with the address of the rebbe (770 Eastern Parkway Brooklyn N.Y.).
The letter was printed in Igrot Koesh of Rebbe Rayatz (vol. XIII, letter 4792). See a long letter addressed to the same person in Igrot Kodesh of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (vol. XV, letter 5427), regarding the publication of his books on Chassidic leaders.
