A student of R. Akiva Eiger, R. Kalischer authored numerous works, including Drishas Tzion (1866) in which he outlined his ideas regarding the resettlement of the Land of Israel. This led to the formulation of the organization “Chevrath Yishuv Eretz Yisrael.”
