Vilna(?): c. 1890

Son of R. Yisroel Moshe HaKohen, R. Shlomo’s responsa were published under the title Binyan Shlomo, and his glosses on the Talmud “Cheshek Shlomo” were included in the Vilna edition of the Talmud issued by the Romm Press, parts of which were proofread and edited by himself. Married to R. Kahn’s daughter Masha Sheina, R. Yehuda Leib Don-Yachya (1869-1941) was a student of the yeshiva of Volozhin, and subsequently rabbi of various Lithuanian communities, including Shklov. He was associated with the form of nascent religious Zionism propounded by his teacher, the Netzi’v. He wrote and published sefarim including Bechorei Yehuda (1933).
