Halachic response to a domestic dispute wherein a husband was assaulting his wife, insisting she accept a divorce as they are childless. The rabbi rules here that the wife must be given financial compensation.

Son of R. Meshulam Zalman Frankel-Ashkenazi and a descendant of the Ba'al Shem Tov and R. Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev. From 1848 he served in the Bucharest rabbinate and migrated to Safed in 1873. See Otzar HaRabanim 12491.
