Stamps of Rav Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman from the time of his serving in the Brzeziny rabbinate.
Rav Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman (5628-5714 [1868-1953]) was the chief Rabbi of Glasgow and Rosh Av Beis Din of London, and author of the Ohr Hayashar sefer series. Father-in-law of Rav Yitzchak Isaak Halevi Hertzog, the Chief Rabbi of Israel. Born in Kovno, he was appointed at a young age as Rav and Rosh Beis Din of Byerazino, Belarus, in his early 20's. Received semicha from the gedoley hador: The Aderes, Rav Refael Shapira, Rav Meir Simcha and the Ridbaz. Was appointed in 5674 [1914] as Rosh Av Beis Din of London, and in 5694 [1934] he made aliya to Eretz Yisrael and settled in Jerusalem. He established Yeshivas Ohel Torah in the Rechavia neighborhood, which also served as a kollel for renowned talmidei chachamim. Among the kollel members: Rav Shlomo Zalman Orbach, Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, Rav Shmuel Halevi Vozhner and Rav Binyamin Yehoshua Zilber.
