Halachic Query Regarding Erev Pesach that Falls on Shabbos
Relevant to This Year - 5781!

When Erev Pesach falls on Shabbos, is it permissible to use matzah for lechem mishneh?
This famous query draws from the prohibition of eating matzah on Erev Pesach, yet there is still a question if it is permissible to use matzah as lechem mishneh, or on the contrary, is the matzah actually muktzeh since it may not be eaten on Shabbos?
Harav Pinchas Chaim Taub (1866-1936) son of Harav Yehudah Tzvi of Rozlo and succeeded his father as Av Beis Din of the town. Raised and educated by his maternal grandfather the Komarno Rebbe Harav Eliezer Tzvi Safrin, he was regarded as one of the greatest sages and Rabbanim in his generation. It is told that when the Vizhnitzer Rebbe went to meet him, he would don Shabbos garments in his honor.
Harav Pinchas Chaim Taub was succeeded by his son Harav Yechiel Yehudah, father of the Kaliver Rebbe zt”l.
