AMELIA EARHART
(1897 - 1937) American aviator, the first woman to cross the Atlantic, first solo across the Atlantic and first Hawaii-Mainland solo; lost in an around-the-world attempt. Superb S.P., 4.5 x 6 in. sepia (sight), a chest-up portrait in a flight jacket, boldly signed 'Amelia Earhart' across her chest. The bottom left corner bears the publication mark of Hal Phyfe, a Broadway photographer famous for his theatrical portraits. Fine condition, framed.
