(NAPOLEONIC WARS) JACQUES ETIENNE MACDONALD
(1765 - 1840) French marshal, defeated by Russian forces under Aleksandr Suvorov at the battle of Trebbia, played an important part in the battle of Wagram (1809), the Peninsular War, and the Russian campaign. A.L.S. signed in the text and again at conclusion, 1p. 4to., Paris, 1801, asks that the Minister of War grant a one month leave to Charles Pagan, a prisoner of war at Verdon. Some marginal dockets, very good.
