Large lot of eighteen contemporary S.P.s, most 10 x 8 in., signed by notable Allied aviators during World War II, many being aces or squadron leaders. Signatures include: FREDERICK J. CHRISTENSEN, JOE FOSS, HUBERT 'HUB' ZEMKE, ROBERT E. GALER, JAMES L. BROOKS, WILLIAM Y. ANDERSON, CARROL MCCOLPIN, WILLIAM J. SLOAN, FRANK HURLBUT, CHARLES MCCORCKLE, ROBERT S. JOHNSON, DICK WILLSIE, JOHNNIE JOHNSON, HENRY W. BROWN (with transmittal A.L.S. and original envelope), GERALD BROWN, LARRY MARCH, BOB BARKEY (2), and ARTHUR FIEDLER. Fine condition overall. Sold with a signed 'Hiroshima' card from 'Enola Gay' radar specialist JACOB BESER, and an additional A.L.S. from ROBERT E. GALER, 1p. 4to., Dallas, Nov. 2, 1992, instructing the recipient: '...if you want to get to a real old airplane - I like my F3F. They pulled it out of the ocean from where I left it 50+ years ago. They are restarting it for Pensacola Museum...'
