ALBERT SPEER AND ROBERT LEY
Very rare printed D.S., 1p. 11.5 x 17 in., Berlin, Nov. 1, 1942, an award document for high production issued to the electric motor factory H. Loher & Sohne, located in Ruhstorf near Passau. The lower margin bears the signatures of ALBERT SPEER (1905-1981), Nazi German architect and Minister of Armaments and War Production, convicted of war crimes at Nuremburg, and ROBERY LEY (1890-1945), Nazi head of the Labor Front who ruthlessly enforced slave labor policies, committed suicide in his jail cell at Nuremberg while awaiting trial. The top bears a blind-embossed German Labour Front emblem - a swastika surrounded by a gear - with a crossed sword and sledgehammer. Minute spots of foxing and tiny spots of soiling, each non-intrusive. Sold with an original presentation folder, bearing a similar gilt emblem at the front surrounded by a gray field. Worn from use at the spine and right edges, some minor soiling, else good condition. An incredibly rare collection of two signatures, applied to an even rarer award document.
