Marquetry Cigarette Case of Czech Inmate KL Buchenwald
High quality handcrafted wooden cigarette case done by or for a former Czech inmate of KL Buchenwald with a very low number: 3694. We did some research about this number and the name of the prisoner is Jan Straka, born 07/20/1902. Case is a souvenir done by the inmate as many of them did at the time to remember his hard time in the camp. It has a Winkel or triangle with a "T" inside it used to identify Czech prisoners and the number 3694 carved. Also a small ribbon with number of the prisoner is attached. We digged in German archives to look for information and we found some nice documents of which we attach only as informational purposes some scans. Great documented item of a camp item.
