Awesome Czech Political Prisoner Coat and Jacket Named!
Awesome Czech Political Prisoner Coat and Jacket Named!

Any doubt this is one of the highlights of this winter auction! An awesome set that belonged to a Czech political prisoner called Haney Ladislav and who was given prisoner number 7492 in KL Buchenwald.
He was born 7.10.1918 in Prague.
This set comprises: a Nazi concentration camp winter jacket, summer-spring pants and an ultra rare long winter coat for prisoner and some photos and papers! Jacket is well worn condition and it's done of the legit KL thick striped fabric. It has all the original buttons present, the red Winkel for political prisoners with the "T" that stands for Tscheche (Czech) written on it in balck ink and below, the almost faded Kennzeichem or camp number 7492 patch stitched, completely original and period made.
Jacket has some customization done in the pockets but the conditions is awesome, with that patina that only a period garment with that worn condition could give this piece. Pants are made of a different fabric, the so called Drillich and it's thiner and sometimes used in summer-spring periods. It was very common that inmates used different type of garments, recycled from other prisoners and that materials didn't match, and in this case the red triangle with the T matches perfectly the set.
It comes with the leather belt used by prisoner. Finally we have the jewel of the crown, an ultra rare and rarely seen for purchase long coat for camp inmate with the matching Winkel and number patch stitched to it! This coat, although is complete, shows a lot of wear and it seems prisoner had to do several works wearing it in the camp. It's manufactured with the legit thick winter striped fabric for camp garments and it has all the original buttons. The story of this item is fantastic.
There are holes on the back of the coat due to slave labor works probably so he would probably wrap it up and sew the lower part of the coat up. It covered the holes and gave more heat in winter time. When I got this from relatives, this "jacket" was very heavy, which surprised us a lot. When we started watching and checking it, we saw that it was stitched up. Into the pockets we found a lot of garbage from the camp, papers, some threads etc!
As you can see we attach some scans of documents from the German archives only as information purposes, where we found some information about this prisoner. We see he was arrested in Prague during october 1943 and stayed in KL Buchenwald until may 1944.
The set also comprises some pre-war pictures where we can see the former prisoner in some group photos and also a set of post-war documents written in Czech.
The most important part is a set of 13 secret documents, handwritten by his prisoner! To summarize, one of the best KL inmate sets we ever had in our hands!
A great chance to get such an astonishing museum set! ***THIS ITEM SHIPS FROM OUR EUROPE OFFICE***
