Ltd /Bacardo Press, c.1910 | Each watercolor painting / drawing was by William Matthison (1853-1926), commissioned by Robert Peel in 1902 to paint approximately seventy views of the University of Oxford | Finely bound in 3/4 black leather with marbled boards; Spine has 5 tall raised bands and gold gilt lettering; Top paper edge gilt | Very Nice Collectible Rare Leather Hardcover First Edition | Contains 50 full-colour tipped in plates by the author of views of Oxford England as it was at the turn of the 20th century. Each watercolor has a brief description opposite. The original volume was issued in a standard cloth over brown boards binding. Previous owner has had the book professionally rebound.
