Sefer Eishel Avraham, Frankfurt-Am-Mein 1747. Only Edition. A Pedigree Copy.

Sefer Eishel Avraham was written by the Great R. Avraham Braude and was published after his death by his grandson R. Shaul Braude. R. Avraham Braude was highly regarded amongst the leaders in a generation of giants, such as the Chacham Zvi who regularly corresponded with him (see, for example Chacham Zvi, 2). Other leaders included R. Yaakov Reisher, author of 'Shevus Yaakov', and R. Eliyahu Spira, author of 'Elya Rabah' on Shulchan Aruch. One of his many students was R. Nesanel Weil, author of Korban Nesanel.

The Great 'Pnei Yehoshua' held him in the highest regard. In his approbation to this work, his praise speaks volumes. He writes: "There was only one Avraham who's great name was spread throughout the country". Please refer to Hebrew description for the full quote.

It should be noted that R. Akiva Eiger was a descendant of his, and he often mentions him by name in his works. (See, for example Drush V'Chidush to Berachos 4a, where he mentions "my esteemed Grandfather, light of our exile and our Teacher R. Avraham Braude").

Present in this volume are novella on the following Masechtos: Pesachim, Chulin, Baba Metziah, Baba Basra and Gittin. R. Avraham also wrote on Kiddushin, Kesubos, and Yevamos which are extant today in manuscript form, held in a private collection.

A pedigree copy. Seen on the tile page are numerous ownership signatures of Moshe Zvi Shachor of Biala, who was the brother-in-law of the Imrei Emes of Gur.

In very good condition, new binding.
[2] 200 leaves.
Vinograd, Frankfurt-Am-Mein 501.
