Map of the borders of the Land of Israel by Rabbi Eliyahu Mizrachi - the Re'em. Venice, at the Bomberg printing press, 1527, a leaf from Rabbi Eliyahu Mizrachi's supercommentary on Rashi's commentary on the Torah, first edition.

Specifications: [1] leaf, size: 26x19 cm. Size of the map: 14x16 cm. Weintraub no. 8.

Background: Map of the Land of Israel to clarify the borders of the Land of Israel written in the portion of Masei. In the center 'Eretz Yisrael' is written surrounded by a simple sketch with the names of the places in Hebrew. The author of the commentary, Rabbi Eliyahu Mizrachi, passed away soon after the book was printed, and it seems this map was printed from a diagram he drew by hand.

Unique Features: This map is considered to be the first map of the Land of Israel printed in Hebrew.

Condition: Fine. Minimal worming holes, not on the diagram. Matted.
