Rabbi Wolf Hamburger was one of the most
prominent rabbinical figures in Germany. Amongst
his many students was Rabbi Avraham Rice; one
of earliest Orthodox Rabbis to settle in America.
Rabbi Rice corresponded with Rabbi Hamburger
about the dismal state of Orthodoxy in America
during that period.
