HALACHIC RESPONSA OF R. CHAIM YAAKOV OF TZEFAS

R. Chaim Yaakov of Tzefas was one of the most
prominent Torah scholars in Izmir, who immigrated
to Tzefas. He served as an emissary of the Jews in
the Holy land, to raise funds in the diaspora. Author
of Samah D’Chaya and Tzror Ha’Chaim.
R. Moshe Greenwald/Arugas Habosem (1853-
1910) was a student of his grandfather R. Yosef
Greenwald, the Ksav Sofer and R. Menachem
Prostitz. He served in various communities in
Hungary, most prominently Chust, and was thus
known as Chuster Rov. In addition to his rabbinical
duties he also led a great Yeshiva and was one of
the most highly regarded rabbinical figures of his
generation.
R. Yitzchak Issac Weisz (1824-1892) was a
student of R. Yitzchak Issac of Zidichov and the
Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Renowned as a great Talmid
Chochom, he served as Rav in Solyiva, and later as
Rosh Beth Din in Munkacs. Author of Divrei Yitzchak
and Toldos Yitzchak.
Vinograd Amsterdam 1499. Dayan press. 2, 100
pages. 30 cm. Fine condition some stains, and small
holes. Fine leather binding. Various library stamps of
R. Yitzchak Issac Weisz as well as library stamp of R.
Moshe Greenwald. One small note in the hand of the
Arugas Habosem.
