RABBI SHALOM YECHEZKEL SHRAGA RUBIN – HALBERSTAM OF CIESZANOW – SHARPLY WORDED LETTER INSTRUCTING CHAIM BLOCH NOT TO MENTION THE SANZ – SADAGURA DISPUTE IN HIS PUBLICATIONS.
Interesting letter dated 1961, sent by the Rebbe of Cieszanow to the writer Chaim Bloch, warning him not to write or publish anything related to the Sanz-Sadagura dispute. The Rebbe warns Bloch in sharp terms not to continue bothering him about these matters.
Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Rubin – Halberstam (1912-1986), son of Rabbi Aryeh Leibish of Tomashov and grandson of Rabbi Simcha Yissachar Ber Halberstam of Cieszanow. Survived WWII in Russia and re-established the Cieszanow dynasty in New York.
Chaim Bloch (1881-1973), Born in Galicia but settled in Vienna, served as chaplain in WWI. Writer and translator. Conducted correspondence with numerous rabbis and writers.
