A RUSSIAN OIL PAINTING BY NAHUM TSCHACBASOV, 1937
A modernist painting of a "Man with a smoking pipe" is one of Tschacbasov's 1930's works. It is a nice example of Nahum's political preoccupations of the times and his dramatic satirical depiction of social injustice. Signed on the bottom, right-hand corner.
