הננו מבטל דעתי לכבודו – מסמך היסטורי בכתב יד וחתימת גאון הגאונים בעל פתחי תשובה רבי איסר איסרלין
רבי ישראל איסר איסרלין (התקפ"ז – ה' תרמ"ט) נולד בשנת תקפ"ז ומנעוריו שקד על לימודו והיה למתמיד גדול. בשנת תרכ"ד מנוהו פרנסי עדת ווילנא למו"ץ נוסף על הרבנים העומדים וקיימים, והורה רבי ישראל איסר הוראה לבני ישראל החונים שם. בהוראותיו בדיני איסור והיתר היה מצדד עפ"י רוב להתירא, ואף כי גדל כוחו בתורה בכל זאת לא התגאה מעודו בזה והיה שפל רוח ועניו מאד. דבר עם כל אדם בנחת רוח ומעולם לא לקח כסף אף בעד כתבי סמיכות אשר נתן להוראה. כל יודעיו ומכיריו העריצוהו לגאון אדיר ובעלי מעשה. גם בדרך למודו היה מחדש גדול וחיבר הספרים, שם ישראל, אשי ישראל, מור ואהלות, תוספות ירושלים, פתחי תשובה ועוד הרבה.
