MAO ZEDONG CAST METAL HONORARY PLAQUES
Group of star-shaped metal plaques, the larger approx. 6 x 6.75 in., and the two smaller 5 x 5.75 in., each bearing a profile portrait of Mao Zedong. The larger plaque bears the inscription 'Revolutionary Committees are Good', while the two smaller plaques are inscribed 'Long Live Chairman Mao'. Each bears an inscription on the reverse, indicating that the metal used in their creation was taken from American aircraft shot down in Vietnam, with one dated May 25, 1967. The larger plaque is painted, with the star and Mao's portrait in gold, and the background in red. Some wear and soiling from age, else very good.
