'JOIN THE NAVY' POSTER BY BABCOCK
Humorous large World War I-era poster by artist 'Babcock', 27.75 x 41.25 in., ca. 1917-1919, depicting a sailor riding a submersible as if he is a cowboy, with reins in one hand and a whip in the other. The bottom-half bears the caption: 'JOIN THE NAVY...THE SERVICE FOR FIGHTING MEN', Slight marginal tears, archivally repaired on the verso, some loss towards the bottom-left corner. Very good condition.
