PRESENTATION SS 'MEIN KAMPF' HAND-CARVED BOX
Presentation carved oak box bearing 'SS' runes upon the top lid with four oak leaves at the sides, static swastika at bottom, and a 'hagal' 'faith in Nazism' rune at top. The lid, unattached to the box, measures 7.5 in. x 10 in. and rests upon a matching 7.25 x 9.75 x 2.125 inch box. Both the box and the lid have been expertly constructed with perfectly mitered joints and fitted panels, period nails, and both bear an appropriately aged finish. In excellent condition. Many believe that these boxes were used in SS wedding ceremonies to act as 'casks' holding copies of Hitler's 'Mein Kampf', with the entire presentation being given to the couple being married. Others speculate that these boxes were used by SS administrators or officers performing the ceremonies. A very desirable piece.
