A RUSSIAN PASTEL PAINTING BY LEONID PASTERNAK
Ð portrait of a young elegantly dressed lady, painted in pastels on paper by Leonid Pasternak. Signed and dated "Pasternak 1879" lower left. The bottom edge of the painting is uneven, there are slight abrasions on the paper, otherwise good condition. Leonid Osipovich Pasternak (March 22 (April 3) 1862 - May 31, 1945) - Russian painter and graphic artist of Jewish origin; master of genre compositions and book illustration; teacher. Father of the writer and poet Boris Pasternak and architect Alexander Pasternak.
Dimensions: Frame Size: 25 1/2 x 19 1/4 in. (64.8 x 48.9 cm.) Image Size: 23 1/4 x 16 3/4 in. (59 x 42.5 cm.)
Condition: Overall condition is good.
