With Serpentine Top, Possibly Made or Retailed by Solomon Loud (1787-1833), Boston, ca. 1810. Descended through the Turner family of Newport, RI. Width 7 3/4 inches, height 3 1/2 inches, depth 5 3/4 inches. An identical workbox associated with Solomon Loud is in the collection of the Massachusetts Historical Society; see Witness to America's Past: Two Centuries of Collecting by the Massachusetts Historical Society
