R. Yitzchok Horowitz (1838-1904), was a son of R. Meshulam Yissachar Horowitz, Rav of Stanislav. Known as an outstanding Talmid Chochom, he was one of the most distinguished Rabbonim in Galicia. He was widely respected by many of the Tzaddikim of his time including R. Chaim Halberstam of Tzanz (Divrei Chaim) and R. Dovid Moshe of Chortkov. In his sefer Meah Shearim (Lemberg 1887), there are particularly warm approbations by R. Tzvi Hirsch Orenstein and R. Yitzchok Aaron Ettinger, both of whom attest to his Gaonus. Father of R. Aryeh Leibish Horowitz who succeeded him as Rav of Stanislav (Harei Besamim).
