Important sefer of halachic responsa by R. Shimshon Morforgo. Two parts with magnificent title pages depicting Moshe, Aaron, Dovid and Goliath. Prepared for publication by his son R. Moshe Chai Shabse, who added many glosses. With many important approbations as well as some verses written in honor of the publication of the sefer.
R. Shimshon Morforgo of Ancona (1681-1740), was a talmid of the Dvar Shmuel. Enormously respected, he was one of the leading rabbinical figures in Italy. Ancona’s Jews had a tradition to pray at his grave on Erev Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and even composed a special prayer for the event.
