HERMANN MEYER-RAMBINGEN
(1887 - 1961) German general in the Wehrmacht during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross. He commanded the 197th Infantry Division which was later destroyed near Vitebsk during Operation Bagration in the summer of 1944. S.P., 3.5 x 5.5 in. b/w, a portrait in uniform signed in blue ink at bottom, and again on verso, adding his rank and "Kdr. 197 Inf. Div." to the latter. Fine.
