HERMAN ALDINGER
(1907 - 1993) Personal adjutant to Gen. Erwin Rommel, he was with Rommel when the field marshal was escorted from his home to commit suicide on Hitler's orders. Good content T.L.S., 2pp. 4to., Stuttgart, July 11, 1958, in German. In part: '...I am sending you a document that was published by Ms. Lucie Maria ROMMEL to counter the many legends about the death of the Field Marshall...you will receive a document...to celebrate the reunion of the Wurttemberg mountain riflemen published 7. October 1957...the speeches that were made, would also be of interest to you...' Sold with an original 2 x 3 in. photo of Aldinger in North Africa beneath a camo tent. Fine.
