GERD VON RUNDSTEDT
(1875 - 1953) German field marshal who led the blitzkrieg attack on France, seizing the country within two weeks, defeated by Allied forces in Normandy and in the desperate Battle of the Bulge. War-date A.L.S. signed twice on the verso of a Feldpost postcard, [n.p.], Jan. 16, 1941, in his typically illegible German scrawl to his wife. Sold with an original 3 x 5 in. photo of von Rundstedt greeting Hitler at an airfield. Fine.
