DWIGHT EISENHOWER ENVELOPE, SIGNED BY MAMIE EISENHOWER AND OMAR BRADLEY
Great signed V-E Day FDC, commemorating General Dwight D. Eisenhower and bearing a printed chest-up view of the general in uniform, signed by both OMAR N. BRADLEY (1893-1981), American general of World War II who commanded the largest ground force ever led by one man, and MAMIE DOWD EISENHOWER (1896-1979), later First Lady and Dwight Eisenhower's wife. Bradley signs at right in black ink, while Eisenhower signs boldly at the top-left corner in black ink. The piece bears an ornate V-E Day stamp, showing an encircled sword and laurels, a May 8, 1945 cancel, and a second cancel dated May 8, 1995 - fifty years after the initial surrender of Nazi Germany. Very good.
