CHARLES MANSON LETTER WITH ARTWORK

(1934 - 2017) Drifter whose 'family' committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969. Good content A.L.S. "Charles Manson", also signed twice with his alter ego "Count von McBrono" and with the addition of a self-portrait, 4pp. 4to., Vacaville, June 8, 1982 to his biographer, Nuel Emmons. Also present is Manson's hand-decorated holograph envelope, also signed by Manson. In part: "...I wish you could come early and stay late...I'm walking a hard balance...That visit was not good & I was spinning it was hot & no place to sit & talk. I'm not up to that many people around. When I joke it don't sound like a joke...When I say kill the umpire everyone & everything stops like I'm not human...I keep playing acts to the fears of the kids that pass by my cell...I'm in history already as a cult leader etc. with powers its illusion to me...I've been in the fast lane as long as I've lived as was my mom...I don't like the scenes(?)..." He adds a scowling self-portrait. Fine condition. From the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words'.
