JOHN F. KENNEDY
JOHN F. KENNEDY
(1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the United States. Kennedy faced-down the Kruschev during the Cuban Missile Crisis, re-invigorated NASA, and signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Assassinated November 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. Signed booklet "John Kennedy" as U.S. Senator, approx. 40pp. 8vo., Pittsburgh, Oct. 14, 1956. A month after finishing second in balloting for the vice presidential slot for Adlai Stevenson, Kennedy keeps his political exposure moving as he attends the "Annual Columbus Celebration" given by the Knights of Columbus at Pittsburgh. Kennedy is shown in a full-page advertisement on page six above the caption: "Why I Am a Knight of Columbus". His blue ink signature appears on the cover of the program. Kennedy's Catolocism would prove a huge obstacle four years later in his run for the presidency.
