AN ANTIQUE PHOTO WITH A VIEW OF ST. PETERSBURG

The photo captures a view of the floating St. Isaac's Bridge, on which horse trams pass. On the other side of the Neva, the rostral column is clearly visible on the left, and the Peter and Paul Fortress on the right.St. Isaac's Bridge - not preserved wooden floating bridge over the Big Neva. For almost 200 years, from 1727 to 1916, with interruptions, he connected Vasilievsky Island with the central part of the city. The bridge installed on the dinghy barks was located in the alignment of Senate Square and got its name from the church of Isaac Dalmatian, which stood where the Bronze Horseman is now located. On July 11, 1916, the crossing burned down from the spark of a tugboat passing along the Neva, and on December 23 of the same year, the permanent Palace, built upstream, replaced the floating Isaac's bridge.
