Four pictures featuring Sir Herbert Samuel, among diplomats and members of government, around 1920. Three are inscribed with the name of the photographer: “Zion Feigen Haifa”. Size 12x17cm.
Sir Herbert Samuel was the first British High Commissioner for Palestine and was also himself a Jew, which is why many had great hopes for him, many of which were disappointed over time when he continued to refuse to become involved in the Jewish-Arab conflict and more.
