Smith & Wesson Model 2 .38 S&W Revolver
Offered for sale in this lot is a fine Smith & Wesson 2nd Model, Double-Action, Top-Break revolver, chambered for .38 S&W. The revolver shows a serial number 40877. The revolver utilizes a 3 1/4" round fully ribbed barrel, 5-shot cylinder, hard rubber "S&W" monogram grips (grips have breaks and chips), top break operation, and a double action trigger. The revolver is marked in numerous places, reading; "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT'D JAN. 24.65 - JULY 11.65. AUG. 24. 69. REISSUE JULY 25.71.MAY 11. 80. Jan. 3. 82." on the top of the barrel rib, cylinder and frame show matching serial numbers. Overall, the revolver shows fair condition, with loss of finish to the cylinder and the barrel. Mechanically the revolver has a non-working double-action. Serial Number: 70255. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
