Included is a historic document that directly led to the surrender of Nazi Germany, and whose "mate" resides in the National Archives. On May 4 1945 at Luneberg Heath Germany surrendered all its armed forces in northwest Germany Denmark and Holland to the Allies including three armies and naval vessels. The sole signatory representing the Allies was British Field Marshal BERNARD LAW MONTGOMERY (1887-1976) who had met with the German military representatives and negotiated the capitulation. Offered here is a typed fair copy of the text of that historic document the first significant German surrender of the war. The 8.5 x 11 inch document is hand-signed at its conclusion by Montgomery as “Montgomery of Alamein” and dated by him “1973”. In fine condition. A remarkable souvenir document.
