Long Autograph Letter of Torah Novellae from Rabbi Nessanel HaCohen Fried, Author of “Pnei Meivin”

Handwritten and signed responsa regarding kinyanei chatzer from Rabbi Nessanel HaCohen Fried, ab”d of Avritch and author of Pnei Meivin.

Based on our research it seems that this response was not published in Pnei Meivien.

Rabbi Nesanel HaCohen Fried (1857-1915) was the son of Rabbi Yechiel Michel, ab”d of Kapisch, and a descendant of Rabbi Naftali Katz, author of Smichus Chachamim. Already in his youth he was known for his sharp mind and incredible breadth of knowledge. He was a leading Torah giant and a prominent Hungarian respondent. He led a yeshiva in Balmazújváros for more than twenty years. During World War I he fasted regularly. This greatly weakened his body and he passed away at the young age of fifty-eight. He authored Responsa Pnei Meivin and Pnei Meivin on the Torah.

Dated Avritch, 1905
