The vibrant American Impressionist landscape is signed lower right front and titled verso. James King Bonnar was a prominent New England painter, particularly known for colorful harbor scenes, landscapes, and murals around Rockport, Gloucester, Vermont, and New Hampshire. He became president of the Copley Society of Boston, and in 1949 he founded the Newton Art Association. Board measures 8.5 x 11 with a framed size of 10.5 x 13.5 inches.
