Maria Flavia de Monsaraz was a Portuguese sculptor and tapestry artist educated in Lisbon and Paris. A pioneer of Portugal's Nova Tapecaria (New Tapestry) movement, she combined modernist artistic sensibilities with textile innovation. Her sculptures and tapestries have appeared at auction internationally and she remains represented in both Portuguese collections and on the international auction market. Measures 40 x 47 inches.
