At the time this work was painted, Gropper regularly reduced the human form to generalized and abstracted silhouettes as seen here in this somewhat surreal landscape. The backside is inscribed with interesting lettering in the artist's hand and provides the title along with other commentary. Panel measures 22.5 x 14.5, frame size 26 x 18 inches.
