SARA NORWOOD BARTLE PORTRAIT OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANT - The finely detailed miniature by a very accomplished artist is signed and dated lower right. Its fine gold, or gold-filled locket frame is engraved 'Florence Lathrop Marlatt, Born October 6, 1962, Married December 1, 1896, Died October 28, 1903.' The Society of Mayflower Descendants of Ohio lists 'Florence Lothrop (Brown) Marlatt, Mrs. Charles Lester Marlatt, ' died October 28, 1903, and records her descent from both John Alden and William Mullins, both on the historic 1620 voyage of the Mayflower. Found in the original presentation case. Measures 4 x 2.5 inches and weighs 65 grams excluding the box.
