Bidspirit auction | A TIFFANY & CO STERLING
A TIFFANY & CO STERLING PORRINGER AFTER PAUL REVERE - This family heirloom manufactured by Tiffany & Co around 1918 is significant to the Marlatt family, whose ancestry included documented descent from Mayflower passengers John Alden and William Mullins. Modeled after an early American silver original by Paul Revere Sr. held in the Clearwater Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was presented by ''Aunt Abby'' to Constance Marlatt Huested on May 21, 1940-the day her daughter, Constance Marlatt Huested Allen, was born. In a family of Mayflower lineage, an object with Colonial reference would have been significant at the start of a new generation. Very good unpolished condition.
